How an import works.
You buy the car
You find and buy the car. Ask the seller for the registration certificate, the sales contract and, if possible, a CoC certificate.
We collect it
We collect the car from the seller and bring it home in a covered trailer.
Origin check
Once the car is in Sweden you apply for an origin check with Transportstyrelsen. Cars from outside the EU are customs-cleared first.
Registration inspection
When the origin check is approved you book a registration inspection.
Swedish plates
The car gets a Swedish registration number, and Transportstyrelsen sends the certificate and plates.
